FINDLEY TOWNSHP – It was an evening of pies, fries and crumpled metal as the 56th annual Mercer County Grange Fair kicked off Tuesday.

The fair – which also has rides, animals and exhibits – continues through Saturday at the fairgrounds at 35 Grange Fair Drive in Findley Township, a mile east of Mercer.

Admission is free and so is parking, although any parking donations will go to the Mercer Baptist Church youth.

Rides open at 5 p.m. daily. The kitchen building will have breakfast daily from 8 to 10 a.m., lunch from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and dinner from 3:30 to 8:30 p.m. There's also live entertainment nightly at 7 p.m.
